Rocket Grill Contest
This year during the Tarrant County Jr. Livestock Show and Youth Fair, we will be hosting a Rocket Grill Build- off. We have obtained 12 kits for the build-off. Each kit will cost around $275 (give or take ) and the team will be able to keep the completed grill. The first 12 teams that order the grill will receive the kits. All kits that are ordered must be paid for prior to judging. RL and I have talked about this for a few years and finally were able to obtain the kits. Our thoughts are; each team of 1 or 2 contestant will build the grill during a specific time frame (most likely the week before the county show) at the place where you want to build the grill. A complete project book with pictures showing the contestant(s) building the grill and a narrative on your process that is used will be required. Grills will be brought to the county show during the Ag Mech. contest. The Build-off is not part of the Ag Mech contest. No alterations of the grill will be allowed for any reason. The builders must follow the instructions provided with each grill. Grills will not be painted. Grinding of welds will not be permitted. Stick or Mig welders can be used, your choice. Please attend the next County Show meeting on February 10th to receive more information. The cost of the kit will include the entry fee.
